ER docs, your comment is insulting. Each of the practitioners you mention have a specialized area in which they have extensive knowledge, and do their job well. In their area of expertise, they may well exceed a doctor in their ability.

How about this? Parents should be evaluated twice a year. If they fail to provide adequate discipline, love, support, direction and guidance their children are taken away from them and placed with foster parents that will do so.

Jordan, I understand exactly what you are saying. It is impossible to buy that $900 car, put a loved one in it, and feel comfortable that they will safely get from point A to Point B on a regular basis.

I distinctly remember my father running down the street, holding the back of the seat of my red 24" Schwinn. It took me a while to get the hang of it, and probably wore him out, but he was happy to do it and I learned how to ride. Fast forward many years, and I taught my kids the same way.
